Brave New Planet is a 2-day conference focusing on the work of Bill McKibben and his new book “Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough Planet,” on life in a climate-disrupted, post peak-oil, politically-disturbed world, and what can be done to ensure that life not only survives but flourishes in this new setting. PCU is proudly organizing and sponsoring this important conference, but please note there will also be a non-PCU-related pre-conference lecture (Thurs., Oct. 27), post-conference concert (Sat. evening, Oct. 29), and post-conference worship services (Sun., Oct. 30). On this site you will find more information about this fall’s conference including a detailed schedule, descriptions of breakout sessions, bios on the many speakers, a study guide to Bill McKibben’s “Eaarth,” the event registration page, and many other resources relating to Brave New Planet. Before you register for the event, you may want to read through the breakout sessions and descriptions. You will be asked to rank your top choices on the registration page.

Congregations and other organizations are invited to bring displays showing any sustainability projects they have already undertaken (i.e. pictures or posters about community gardens, energy or water conserving projects, solar panels, composting, etc), to be viewed by conference attendees during breaks. Please email Tom Helliwell or call at (909) 626-5037 if you plan to bring an exhibit and we will provide a space and table!
