People to the Earth
We have a sacred obligation to take care of and protect our precious earth. One way PCU’s Eighth Day Project is already helping to fulfill this obligation is through its deep involvement in the San Gabriel Mountains Forever campaign. The campaign seeks to unite stakeholders from various communities adjoining the San Gabriel Mountains; mobilizing advocates to protect the wildest places left within the Angeles and the San Bernardino National Forests.
In collaboration with Friends of the Los Angeles River, PCU’s Eighth Day Project will also host experiential field trips and clean-up projects that bring participants right into the riverine lifeblood of Los Angeles, seeing at close range the impact of pollution and also the potential for renewal.
We’ll also organize outdoor retreats that let people get out, get away and get re-spirited. There’s nothing like direct exposure to the great outdoors to realize yet again the many gifts of land, water, and open sky.
