Blessing Our Taxes and Celebrating Our Taxpayers
Blessing taxpayers and taxes for the sake of the common good, while asking for divine guidance as citizens in shaping and improving the way our taxes are spent, congregations are invited to incorporate a special time of prayer and blessing during public worship on the Sunday before IRS returns are due: on April 11.
PCU’s Executive Director, Peter Laarman recently debated the evangelical Dr. David Gushee over such topics as the the definition of “Progressive,” the power of the Christian Right, and issues surrounding Faith-Based Initiatives.

Believe Out Loud, a trans-denominational effort to promote LGBT equality, is one of PCU’s newest partner programs. We expect many expressions of affirmation and celebration to take place in congregations across the country, and we would like YOU to become involved as well.
